PDO Saint-Chinian
The AOP Saint-Chinian, seen from Berlou
Granted Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée status in 1982, the AOP Saint-Chinian stretches across 20 villages of the Languedoc, straddling the Cévennes and the Mediterranean plain. Domaine de Cambis, in Berlou, crafts several cuvées within this appellation.
For the reds, the appellation calls for a blend built around Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Carignan. Caudomato, Les Jardins Suspendus and Rock de Carignane show just how varied these blends can be, from the most approachable to the most structured. In white, Kalliope brings together Grenache Blanc, Roussanne and Vermentino. In rosé, our signature cuvée pairs Cinsault with Syrah.
All our AOP Saint-Chinian wines are born on the schist soils of Berlou, on hillsides between 250 and 400 metres above sea level, and carry Agriculture Biologique certification.
