Les Jardins Suspendus is an invitation to gaze out over the Berlou valley in spring. When the vines unfurl their first leaves and the garrigue bursts into flower, the terraced vineyards that cover the hillsides of Berlou (Hérault) irresistibly recall the legendary Hanging Gardens of Babylon. It is this image that gave its name to one of the most graceful and elegant cuvées of the Domaine de Cambis.

A blend of Grenache and Syrah grown under certified organic farming on the schist soils of the AOP Saint-Chinian Berlou appellation, Les Jardins Suspendus is an organic red wine from the Languedoc made for the table, revealing itself alongside fine food all year round.

Terroir & Grape Varieties

60% Grenache and 40% Syrah grown on the schist terroirs of Berlou, in the AOP Saint-Chinian Berlou appellation. The Grenache brings roundness and ripe red fruit; the Syrah adds structure, spice and the character of high-altitude Mediterranean terroirs. The certified organic farming practised by the Domaine de Cambis since its very beginning respects and brings out the richness of the appellation's brown schist soils.

Aromatic Profile

A garnet robe with purple highlights. The nose offers garrigue flowers (lavender, thyme, rosemary) — the aromatic signature of the hills of Berlou — followed by fresh red fruit. The palate opens on the freshness typical of organic wines from Saint-Chinian Berlou, before revealing a silky, generous roundness. Melted tannins, with an elegant and lingering finish.
