Trapanelles is an ode to camaraderie, to the incredible terroirs of the Languedoc and to work well done. The idea is simple and beautiful: two organic winegrower friends, two plots of old Carignan on two different Languedoc terroirs, one single exceptional wine.

Fabien Lainé, a wine enthusiast, had the idea of bringing together Martin Perolari (Domaine de Cambis, Berlou, AOP Saint-Chinian Berlou) and Renaud (Domaine Ferrussac, Terrasses du Larzac) around their oldest Carignan vines. Each winegrower selects his finest plot, the two Languedoc terroirs are blended together, and a cuvée is born in extremely limited quantities — a curiosity for lovers of great organic Languedoc wines.

Terroir & Grape Variety

100% Carignan, a blend of two old plots of organic old vines from the Languedoc:

  • Berlou schist — Domaine de Cambis, AOP Saint-Chinian Berlou, Hérault (altitude 350m, brown schist soils)
  • Limestone of the Terrasses du Larzac — Domaine Ferrussac, Languedoc (limestone soils, cool wind from the Larzac)

Two contrasting Languedoc terroirs, two expressions of Carignan brought together in a single cuvée. Certified Agriculture Biologique (certified organic) on both estates.

Aromatic Profile

A complex, deep wine that plays on the complementarity of the Languedoc terroirs. The Berlou schist brings minerality, red fruits and spices — the signature of AOP Saint-Chinian Berlou; the Terrasses du Larzac add structure, black fruits and limestone freshness. Ripe, well-integrated tannins, with a long, savoury finish that invites reflection.

Tasting & Serving

Serving temperature

Serve between 16 and 18°C. Decanting for 30 minutes is recommended to let this organic Languedoc Carignan express itself.

Cellaring potential

Can be cellared for 5 to 8 years. Extremely limited quantities — a rarity among Languedoc collaboration wines.

Food Pairings

A great gastronomic wine: roast lamb with herbes de Provence, Provençal daube, duck confit with olives, mature regional cheeses from the Languedoc, or simply among lovers of great organic Languedoc wines. A cuvée to be shared in good company.
