Los Compaïres (meaning "the companions" in Occitan) is much more than a bottle of wine — it's a story of friendship born on the schist terroirs of Berlou, in the Hérault region. Born from the collaboration between Martin Perolari (winemaker at Domaine de Cambis) and Fabien Lainé (a bon vivant with many hats), this friendly cuvée is a limited edition of just 300 bottles.

The project came about simply: an old Cinsault plot, almost a hundred years old, on a schist hillside at 400 meters altitude in Berlou (Hérault), two friends who share the same passion for beautiful, unpretentious wines, and the talented artist-winemaker Audrey Bakx to create a label that reflects them. The result: a fantastic bottle that perfectly matches their vision — beautiful, good, and fun. An organic Languedoc wine that is as much an experience as it is a drink.

Terroir & Grape Variety

100% centenary Cinsault grown with certified organic farming on a schist hillside at 400m altitude in Berlou, within the AOP Saint-Chinian Berlou appellation. The old vines (almost 100 years old) produce very small quantities of grapes with exceptional concentration and finesse — the signature of the great schist terroirs of Languedoc. These vines have endured wars and viticultural crises to now offer one of the most unique red wines of Berlou.

Aromatic Profile

A light and gourmet red with fresh red fruit notes (cherry, raspberry), floral hints, and a slight peppery touch. The palate is lively, crisp, with fine, silky tannins that attest to the age of the vines on the Berlou schist. The finish is fresh and long — the perfect wine for large gatherings, to be shared without moderation (within reason).
